Hi, you're probably wondering why a random person on the internet is asking you for your hard-earned money. I've done the same when visiting pages like this in the past. The thing is, I didn't know why until I started to participate more in the free and open source community.

To say that software development is labour-intensive is a bit of an understatement. Despite this, most of the software we depend on daily is free.

Creators like myself don't usually get paid for the free (as in "freedom" and as in "beer") software we release. Many like myself also have day jobs and families, so we end up building our solutions in our spare time.

I don't mind, I love to code, and I love to help others make their lives or jobs easier via automation. However, I wish I could be doing more of this.

To get paid for building open source software would be to transform that activity from a hobby to a second job. That is game-changing from a quality and quantity standpoint.

This means more frequent releases of high quality software, faster response times for issues, and more time to create new and innovative products. Small donations or sponsorships to open source projects are how many of them stay alive.

All that being said, if you've found any of my solutions or ideas helpful to you, please consider "buying me a beer" 🍺.

Most content, products, and services that I provide here are on a pay-what-you-want model. I'll never force you to pay anything at all for these, and if you would like to continue to consume them for free, that's fine with me!

I'm just happy that my work is doing something to help make your life, and the world, a little more tolerable. (Did I mention that this entire site and all its content is ad-free?)

Below are various ways you can show your appreciation for my work and content:
